Robert Ellsberg

Robert Ellsberg — the son of Daniel Ellsberg, of Pentagon Papers fame and the subject of the new Steven Spielberg film, “The Post” — will be at Third Unitarian Church, 301 N. Mayfield in Chicago this week, but he’ll be speaking about something much deeper than espionage.

Robert, who helped his father with the 1971 blockbuster release, will be bearing witness in another way on Sunday. His talk — part of the church’s Rev. Donald H. Wheat Annual Lecture — is entitled “One Lamp Lights Another: The Power of Living Witness.”

Robert — who as a disciple of social activist Dorothy Day has edited her published diaries and letters — “believes that the lives of saints, prophets, and great souls open our imaginations and expand our moral horizons — one righteous deed can inspire another.”

Admission to this talk, to take place Sunday, April 22, at 11 a.m., is free.
