Alla Priceman

Alla Priceman, 84, of Oak Park and a longtime resident of Larchmont, New York, died on Aug. 30, 2017 in Chicago after a short illness. Mrs. Priceman moved to Oak Park in May to be close to her family.

Born in Kharkov, Ukraine, she moved to Germany as a child and then to New York City in 1956. She met and married her husband Mark in 1957. Together they were Larchmont residents from 1966 until her husband's death in 2014, and most recently she resided there alone until forced to move for medical reasons.

She loved everything about Larchmont and the New York City metropolitan area, and was active in many organizations. Most recently she resided at Brookdale Senior Living in Oak Park, and loved to walk around and explore the beautiful areas around her new home.

She was an avid collector of minerals and a director of the New York Mineralogical Club, active in the Rock Garden Society, the Language Club of Westchester, and most recently an active participant in senior programs offered by At Home on the Sound in Mamaroneck and studying French in Larchmont. She and her husband loved to take daily walks around Manor Park in Larchmont, and attend New York Philharmonic concerts at Carnegie Hall.

Alla Priceman was preceded in death by her son, Oliver, and her husband, Mark. She is survived by her son Eric (Kathleen) of Oak Park; her grandsons, Zach (Kelly and their children Ava and Nolan) and Mark; and her granddaughter Kristina (Christopher Weller) of Oak Park.

A private service will be held in New York at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to: At Home on the Sound, P.O. Box 523, Mamaroneck, NY 10543.
