Walther Lutheran Academy is an educational leader. The school, designed for students ages 3 years to 8th grade, provides a broad range of services with unique opportunities for student learning. Students benefit from dedicated and passionate teachers modeling Christian values. These experienced Christian teachers use the latest technology providing research-based instruction in time-tested academics with a look toward the future. Academy students are being prepared for the changing world in which they live as they learn to access, synthesize, and filter information. Active, hands-on learning activities make school activities natural and exciting for students at all levels. Learning at the school goes beyond the school day with morning and aftercare available. Learning also goes well beyond the text. The school’s mission is to meet children’s social, emotional, physical, spiritual and academic needs. We are concerned about the whole child. In this tough economy many schools have been forced to cut music and athletic programs. Both remain as important components of our school. Classroom music is an important part of who we are. Students can continue musical interests by participating in choir, our instrumental or strings programs and summer offerings. Interscholastic athletics provide experiences in a variety of sports.

Classroom “groupings” allow our teachers to meet individual student needs with personal attention. Academy partnerships allow for increased opportunities for student success. We are a “Concordia University Partner School.” Concordia professors and their students are active in our school. Concordia students serve as classroom aides, tutors, and student teachers enhancing the educational offerings we can provide. Our students compete in math, science, social studies, and athletic competitions hosted by Walther Lutheran High School. As a division of the high school, the majority of our eighth grade students continue their education at the Melrose Park campus.

Join us at one of our Spring Open Houses and see how your child will benefit by being a member of our school family. Personal tours may be reserved by contacting the school office.
