High school baseball crosstown rivals Oak Park and River Forest and Fenwick recently played each other in a nonconference game. The Huskies, who faced the Friars for the first time in three seasons, cruised to a 10-0 victory.
OPRF senior Griffin Holderfield tossed five shutout innings, allowing three hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks. Dylan Whitney (3-for-4, 3 RBIs) and Luke Fitzgerald (2 RBIs) paced the offense with timely doubles in bases loaded situations. Adam Landsman and Ethan Reinhardt chipped in two hits apiece.
OPRF student Jake Fine took photos of the game. Here’s his photo gallery of the Huskies’ convincing victory.
