As the world mourns the death of George Floyd, who was killed on May 25 when Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nine minutes, there were areas on the West Side that were impacted by looting. However, Austin Coming Together helped organize cleanups throughout the West Side yesterday as volunteers came together on short notice.
