Oak Park police have arrested a Chicago man for the May 11 non-fatal shooting of a father and son in the 200 block of Clinton Avenue. Tarik Page, 44, was arrested for two counts of attempted murder at 10:29 a.m., Aug. 10 in the 7100 block of Cermak Road in Berwyn.

The shooting took place at 1:30 a.m., May 11 when an intruder smashed the glass window of a door to the victims' home and fired, waking a father, 58, and his son, 20.

Upon hearing the father say he intended to call the police, the intruder fired several rounds through the door's broken window, striking the father in his shoulder and the son in his buttocks.

The father and son were subsequently transported to Loyola University Medical Center, 2160 S. 1st Ave., Maywood, where they received treatment for their injuries. Neither the son nor the father sustained life-threatening injuries.

At the time of the shooting, police believed the incident was an attempted home invasion and had no descriptions of the shooter.

DNA evidence taken from blood on the broken window glass connected Page to the crime. An off-duty duty Oak Park police detective saw Page in Berwyn, where Berwyn police arrested Page without incident then turned him over to the Oak Park Police Department. Page's bond is set at $2 million.
